Amalfi Coast · Charter guide
A week in Amalfi Coast.
The Amalfi Coast is the Mediterranean at its most dramatic. Villages stacked on cliffs, lemon terraces above the sea, and Capri a short run across the bay. Seen from a yacht, it is calmer and closer than it ever is from the coast road.
A week here is about long lunches and beautiful arrivals. Anchor below Positano, take the tender into Amalfi, swim off Capri's Faraglioni in the morning before the day boats arrive. Add the Aeolian Islands to the south and the week can stretch from cliffs to volcanoes.
Italy's charter market is busy and berths in the best ports are limited in summer. AUREVE holds no fleet. We only offer yachts we believe in and know to be of good quality. We search the market around Naples, Salerno and the islands, check what is really free and show you clear terms. Fast, direct and honest.
Where you'll cruise
Where you'll cruise.
- 01
Capri
The Faraglioni rocks, the Blue Grotto and a harbour full of life. Best by yacht early in the day, before the crowds.
- 02
Positano
Pastel houses down to the beach. Anchor off the town and take the tender in for dinner.
- 03
Amalfi
The coast's old maritime town, its cathedral and quiet coves nearby. Ravello sits in the hills above.
- 04
Ischia and Procida
Green Ischia with its thermal springs, and small, colourful Procida. Calmer and less visited than Capri.
- 05
Aeolian Islands
Volcanic islands off Sicily: Stromboli, Panarea, Salina and Lipari. A longer passage, but worth it on a full week.

When to charter
May to October.
The Amalfi Coast charter season runs from May to October. May, June, September and early October are the quieter months. The water is warm enough, the harbours are calmer and prices are often easier. June and September are a fine choice here: warm water, softer light and more space in Capri and Positano.
Peak season is July and August. Demand is highest then, the best yachts go first and some owners only take full weeks with set changeover days. If you want those weeks, book well ahead. Many of the best yachts are reserved months in advance, so serious plans start early.
Late requests can still work. The market keeps moving, and cancellations and gaps between bookings open up all season. When time is short, we search fast and tell you plainly what is really free.
What a week costs
Fee. APA. VAT.
A week in the Amalfi Coast is built from three parts. The first is the weekly charter fee: the yacht, her crew and her insurance. It moves with the season, the size of the yacht and how in demand she is. Low-season and high-season rates can differ a lot for the same yacht.
The second is the Advance Provisioning Allowance, or APA. It is usually 30–35% of the charter fee, paid before you board and held by the captain. It covers fuel, food, drinks, marina fees and other running costs, all at what they actually cost. You get a full account at the end of the week, and any money left over comes back to you.
The third is VAT where it applies. The rate depends on the flag, the route and the country the charter starts in. Italy has its own rules for charters, and they can depend on where you start and the route you take. We confirm how it applies to your yacht and your plans before you commit. We never guess.
Many guests also tip the crew at the end of the week. It is a choice, not a charge. What you see from us is a clear starting figure and clear terms. The final total depends on your yacht, your dates and how you like to spend the week.

PLAN YOUR CHARTERQuestions
Amalfi Coast yacht charter FAQ.
Where do Amalfi Coast charters usually start?
Most start in Naples or Salerno. Some yachts are based in Sorrento or on Capri. We confirm the start point and any delivery costs with each yacht.
Can I include the Aeolian Islands?
Yes, on a full week with the right yacht. It is a longer passage south, so it suits faster yachts or a one-way route.
Is it easy to get a berth in Capri or Positano?
In summer, berths are limited and book early. Many nights are spent at anchor, which is often the best place to be anyway.
When is the best time to charter on the Amalfi Coast?
June and September give warm water and calmer harbours. July and August are the busiest weeks and book far ahead.
What does APA cover?
Fuel, food and drink, marina fees and other running costs, at cost. It is usually 30–35% of the charter fee, with a full account at the end.
Does AUREVE only work with one Italian fleet?
No. AUREVE is independent and holds no fleet. We search the whole market and recommend the yachts that fit your week — only yachts we believe in and know to be of good quality.
