Your First Charter
New to Yacht Charter?
Everything you need to know before your first charter, explained simply. Figures below are typical ranges; we confirm the exact terms for every yacht.
ASK US ANYTHINGHow it works
Tell us your destination, dates and group size. We send a short selection of suitable yachts, you choose, and we arrange the charter agreement and the details.
The weekly rate
Yachts are usually priced per week, Saturday to Saturday. The rate covers the yacht and its crew. Shorter charters and day charters are possible on some yachts.
VAT
VAT is added to the charter rate. The percentage depends on the country where the charter takes place and the route, so we confirm it per yacht.
APA
The Advance Provisioning Allowance, usually 30–40% of the rate, is paid in advance to cover fuel, food, drinks, marina fees and other running costs. The captain keeps receipts and any balance is returned.
Deposit and payment
A deposit, often 50%, confirms the booking when you sign the agreement. The balance and APA are usually due a few weeks before boarding.
Crew gratuity
A gratuity for the crew is customary at the end of the charter, typically 5–15% of the rate, at your discretion.
