A week in Sardinia & Corsica.

Sardinia and Corsica share some of the clearest water in the Mediterranean. Granite islands, white sand and a sea that turns every shade of blue. Between them lies the Strait of Bonifacio, and on either side two different islands, one Italian, one French.

A week here suits guests who want space and swimming. The Costa Smeralda has its famous harbours and evenings, but a short run away the La Maddalena archipelago is wild and quiet. Cross the strait and Bonifacio's white cliffs and Corsica's southern bays feel a world apart.

Much of this coast is protected, so routes and anchorages need local knowledge. AUREVE holds no fleet. We only offer yachts we believe in and know to be of good quality. We search the market around Porto Cervo, Olbia and southern Corsica, check what is really free and show you clear terms. One request. A fast, honest answer.

A sample route. Every week is planned with the captain around weather, berths and what your group wants.

May to October.

The Sardinia & Corsica charter season runs from May to October. May, June, September and early October are the quieter months. The water is warm enough, the harbours are calmer and prices are often easier. The mistral can blow hard through the Strait of Bonifacio, so the captain plans each crossing around the weather.

Peak season is July and August. Demand is highest then, the best yachts go first and some owners only take full weeks with set changeover days. If you want those weeks, book well ahead. Many of the best yachts are reserved months in advance, so serious plans start early.

Late requests can still work. The market keeps moving, and cancellations and gaps between bookings open up all season. When time is short, we search fast and tell you plainly what is really free.

Fee. APA. VAT.

A week in Sardinia & Corsica is built from three parts. The first is the weekly charter fee: the yacht, her crew and her insurance. It moves with the season, the size of the yacht and how in demand she is. Low-season and high-season rates can differ a lot for the same yacht.

The second is the Advance Provisioning Allowance, or APA. It is usually 30–35% of the charter fee, paid before you board and held by the captain. It covers fuel, food, drinks, marina fees and other running costs, all at what they actually cost. You get a full account at the end of the week, and any money left over comes back to you.

The third is VAT where it applies. The rate depends on the flag, the route and the country the charter starts in. Italy and France each have their own rules, and a route across the strait can change how they apply. We confirm how it applies to your yacht and your plans before you commit. We never guess.

Many guests also tip the crew at the end of the week. It is a choice, not a charge. What you see from us is a clear starting figure and clear terms. The final total depends on your yacht, your dates and how you like to spend the week.

Sardinia & Corsica yacht charter FAQ.

Can I combine Sardinia and Corsica in one charter?

Yes. The Strait of Bonifacio is a short crossing and many weeks include both islands. The weather decides the best day to cross.

Where do charters usually start?

Most start in Porto Cervo or Olbia in Sardinia. Some yachts are based in southern Corsica. We confirm the start point with each yacht.

Are there rules in La Maddalena and the Lavezzi Islands?

Yes. Both are protected areas with rules on anchoring and access. The crew knows them and plans the route around them.

When is the best time for a Sardinia & Corsica charter?

June and September give warm water and more space. July and August are the busiest weeks and book well ahead.

What is APA and how much should I budget?

APA covers running costs such as fuel, food and marina fees, at cost. It is usually 30–35% of the charter fee. Anything unspent is returned.

Is AUREVE tied to a fleet here?
